So that is what you call the remainder of my junk. I did a good job unpacking my clothes, but the rest still remains. I realized why I unpacked my clothes so quickly. My mom told me I needed something to organize all my clothes in. Me being a frugal shopper, I found this shelf thing I could put together and organize with little baskets. That night I got home, put everything together, and felt so accomplished. I was so excited to see what it would look like once I finished, that I didn’t let anything stopped me. Since I didn’t care about the other stuff, you see it still remains the way I left it. This alone speaks so much to my strengths.
My number 1 strength is activator. The great thing about this is I get stuff done. I get it done effectively and efficiently. Because I think things through a lot, I work through plans in my head then execute them to finish. This sounds all great and dandy, but it only works when I’m really passionate about something.
If I took this say “energy” and applied it to more things, maybe I’d actually be a step closer to changing the world. Changing the world doesn’t have to be curing cancer, it can be changing one person’s world with a friendly smile. So I sit on the couch wasting energy and potential that could be channeled into changing the world. I could walk down to the lake and say hello to the middle age walkers.
How much time do we waste thinking about all the great things we could be doing? Why not just do them? If I have this activator strength, why am I not doing anything? Well, my challenge is there is always the time to do the RIGHT thing. You can’t do everything, but you can focus on doing the right thing.
So this summer, find that right thing and do it. And if you don’t do it for someone else, do it for your mother. At least she has to love you.
I always say I’m only God’s gift to my parents, so I constantly find ways to make meaning of why I’m in someone’s life. Why are you in mine?
